Text Based CD Label & CD cover
A music CD label which I'd designed for 'Kenji', a song by Mike Shinoda. The CD label focused primarily on using text with minimal usage of images. Although image was used, the purpose was to only give the label some texture.
Upon finishing, a mock black vinyl was prepared to slip the CD. It was a packaging gimmick because I wanted something to emulate the WW2 days where black vinyl records were still available. Stencil fonts were chosen as it suites the song.
The song lyric was printed onto a tracing paper for texture and feel. All these would be slip into the CD sleeve which the size was slightly bigger because the mock vinyl has about 8 inch diameter.
