Public Service Announcement

Road Safety is a Public Service Announcement, created using Flash. It is a simple application with games and traffic information catered for the children.

The picture below is one of the games and its purpose was to educate the children on different traffic signs they might encounter. As they place the signs at the correct place, they also get to see and learn the situation from the animated map

The following game would be the filling in the blanks with the correct answer. Every correct answer will earn the player points but if the wrong answers were given, points would be deducted. Answers are provided but every time the answers are referred, points would also be deducted.

General traffic information is provided on a separate page for extra information especially to children who have just started to learn about road safety.

30 seconds Pet Food Advertisement

*This video was produced for educational purposes only. Will be removed if requested.

Another 30 second ad featuring Burgess Supafeeds, a premium rabbit food brand using mission impossible concept.

30 seconds Multicultural Advertisement

*This video was produced for assignment purposes only. Will be removed if requested.

This Coca Cola ad was produced as a group (3 person in the 2nd last frame) based on a multicultural theme and a tagline "Bring Us Together". Teh Tarik is a widely known drink (especially among Malaysians) served in Mamak stalls and also a lifestyle that brings us together. Thus, we used that concept and replaced teh tarik with Coca Cola, which can also bring Malaysians together.

Documentary Video

These are screen shots of my video assignment. It is a compilation of 2 documentaries (Penang Municipal Park & USM Swimming Pool). The 10 minute video was created together with the DVD cover.

Voice overs and several video techniques were used during the process of producing the documentary (green screen, animated text, etc...)

Fold-A-Robot

The fold-a-robot was an assignment given to me during my internship. I was required to design the robot prototype based on the company's mascot and fold it into the robot (shown below).

Coffee Mug Logo

The logo was also created during my internship days.

OMG Flash Website

This is a flash based website designed for a mock company which my group came up with. The structure of the website was created by me (after group discussion) except the logo. I designed the layout as well as linking the internal pages together.

*Note: This website does not contain form.

Beanie Babies Postcard Series

This is a postcard series designed for Beanie Babies collectors with a concept. To date, there are no activities such as postcard exhange between the collectors around the world. With this postcards, those collectors would be able to interact with other collectors by sending postcards of the Beanie Babies they own.

Because I did not want the postcard to look like a catalog, I photographed the Beanie Babies myself and incorporate them with their habitat background to create a series of them. The logo of the product was not allowed to be placed in the postcard for this assignment.

Magazine Cover

This is a magazine cover which I designed for Short n Sweet (a non-existent dessert magazine). Photographs were mostly provided by food bloggers. The raspberry photo was provided by a user in Flickr.

I decided to feature the desserts by following a certain theme color to give the cover a harmonious feel.

Documentary DVD cover

The DVD cover was designed after creating the documentary videos for assignment purposes. Certain images (e.g. the skate boarder and yellow background) were sourced from the internet. However the arrangement and feel was decided by myself.

Penang Municipal Park (previously known as Youth Park) has new attractions such as a newly renovated public pool and skateboard park. Therefore, I used those elements to create my cover.

Corporate Identity System

‘Spaeyz’ is an interior design company. Their company concept is simple modern but producing designs based on space and dimension. Due to those facts, I decided to choose Zurich Cn BT for the company name because it is bold and edgy. ‘design & architecture’ uses Century Gothic as the fonts appears to be lighter and compliments the bold company name above.

The words are in charcoal colour because black would make the words seems heavy. The company name was spaced out a little to allow the sense of space to kick in.

As for the boxes, they are aligned horizontally next to each other with different shades of pure cyan (without using the gradient tool). They are created manually in such way to depict space and dimension. Shade is a very powerful element in interior design because it could ‘create space’ visually. The lightest colour in the middle would be the visual anchor.

The visual anchor is placed there because I want to lead people from the word ‘spaeyz’ down to ‘design & architecture’. The composition of the logo also serves for that purpose as one can see its almost resembling a triangle shape. There is also unity in the logo because all the shapes its portraying are geometrical.

The picture above shows the CIS items I designed. There is a folder, memo, letterhead and name card. 'Spaeyz' is an interior design company so it would be most appropriate to have a folder to contain all the items together. The folder has a slit where the company's person in-charge can slip in their name card for client's reference. As for the pocket in the folder, quotations and print outs as well as any notes written on the memo can be kept properly.
